Biographyfrom the British Museum collection online: "Print publisher/printer (Royal Lithographic Workshop), founded in 1824 by José de Madrazo y Agudo (q.v.) who was also first Director; short lived venture originally set up to reproduce paintings in the Royal Collection (now the Prado); some impressions bear an elaborate circular blind-stamp of the Bourbon coat-of-arms with the lettering 'Real Establecimiento Litográfico de Madrid' (not in Lugt)"
